Polyethylene

Does Your Business Need Polyethylene Packing Foam to Ship Your Products?

Polyethylene (PE) foam is one of the most commonly used variety of foams. It is used across a variety of applications of packaging including vibration dampening and cushioning. Polyethylene is classified into several categories mostly based on density. At Foam Products LLC we offer a wide range of polyethylene materials including laminated, extruded and crosslinked.

Characterizations: Recyclable, cushioning, durability, flexible, odorless, non-abrasive, lightweight, non-dusting, CFC free, stability, uniform cell structure, impact absorbent, vibration absorbent, resistant to chemicals, oils, mold and bacteria.

Foam Density and Compression: Foam density is expressed in pounds per cubic foot. The higher the density the larger load it will support.

Compression or load deflection (ILD) value rates the foams feel and firmness or how it supports applied weight. The lower the ILD the softer the foam. It is important to look at type of foam, density and compression when designing packaging for each project.

Polyethylene Laminated Foam Planks

Polylam planks are consist of laminated layers to achieve the desired thickness and comes in a variety of densities.

Polyethylene Premium

These Polyethylene planks are supplied with a 1/8″ black or blue 6lb density skin laminated to one side. These planks are available from 1/2″ upto 3″ in various densities.

Polylam Foam Plank

Polylam plank is extruded 1/2″ polyethylene foam planks laminated to achieve each different thickness and comes in densities from 1.2 pcf to 9 pcf. The polylam family of closed cell polyethylene plank provide customers with a variety of protective solutions designed to meet needs across multiple industries and markets. PolyPlank products are manufactured to high-quality specifications:

  • Clean, nonabrasive material properties provide superb surface protection-no scratching or marring.

  • Maximum shock absorption and vibration dampening for excellent cushioning and blocking and bracing.

  • Uniform product with uncompromised dimensional stability is easy to fabricate into a wide range of shapes, forms and die cuts.

  • Available in varying lengths, densities and thicknesses for precise protection for each application need.

Polylam foam is also available with a 1/8” laminated 6lb blue or black top sheet. This makes the foam more versatile for instrument cases, shadow boxes and allows it to have a tougher top for repeated insertion of products.

Polylam is available in 24″ and 48″ widths with thicknesses from 1/2″ to 10″ and densities from one to nine pounds per cubic foot.

Also available with anti-static properties.

Engineered Foam

PolyPlank closed-cell polyethylene (PE) plank foam is easy to fabricate, and is both resilient and non-abrasive. This PE plank foam provides excellent shock and vibration protection during product transport thus serving as an excellent form of foam packaging.

PolyPlank foam is also water resistant and has good flotation properties for recreational and sporting foam packaging applications.

  • Clean, nonabrasive material properties provide superb surface protection-no scratching or marring.

  • Maximum shock absorption and vibration dampening for excellent cushioning and blocking and bracing.

  • Uniform product with uncompromised dimensional stability is easy to fabricate into a wide range of shapes, forms and die cuts

  • Standard sizes are 48″x108” and 24”x108” but it is available in varying lengths, densities and thicknesses for precise protection for each application need.

  • Also available with anti-static properties.

Polyethylene Roll Stock

This foam is a cost-effective, flexible all-purpose answer to many packaging problems. It is abrasion resistant, protects surfaces well and is excellent for blocking and bracing of product during shipment. Polyethylene Roll Stock can be converted to sheets or pouches and is available perforated on a roll for easy tearing into lengths. This foam is available in a variety of custom forms such as anti-static, laminated and high or low density.

Density 0.9 pcf-2.0 pcf available in roll widths of 48″, 60” and 72”.

Available thickness 1/32″, 1/16″, 3/32′ 1/8〃,3/16〃,1/4” and 1/2″ (48″ wide only).

Features & Benefits:
